Colin Munroe-I Want Those Flashing Lights

And finally Flashing lights canadian style. Nice lookin video especially considering budget and such... probably a more predictable approach... but still nice to look at. oh and hey, its the corner of Yonge and Dundas!

Kanye West - Flashing Lights

The original Spike Jones directed video. Actually on another look.. this video is pretty hype too.

Kanye West - Flashing Lights (2nd Version) World Premiere

I definitely like this one better than the original.. tho some of the scenes are awkward.. like when she's making breakfast and sh*t like that.

Mechanical

Beautiful motorcycles made outta watch and eyewear parts by designer: Jose Geraldo Reis Pfau.

Joodito

Clothes made outta old clothes. This looks like its done really well. I guess the one-of-one super original cache makes it that much more appealing, but at the same time, you gotta be ultra small and thin.. and well a girl to fit these clothes. Chick seems to be selling at reasonable prices too. I totally dig the designs. Looks like most of it is sold out now. Check it out here.

Slam Dunk

Really nice Dunk for the ladies. Now available at Livestock.

Emily Carr

Some friends and I rolled down to Emily Carr UNIVERSITY to check out this year's undergrad show just this past weekend. Gotta say, there were definitely some inspiring projects, but overall I was a bit unimpressed.  I never saw so many projects that were repeat projects... same sh*t every year type ish. Kids be always trying to hard.. trying to save the world.. or at least hug a tree. I'm tired of that sh*t, why can't a grad project be FUN? anyway.. i guess that separates the people who stand out and the ones that don't. Thanks for taking a few flix Nel!

Spaceless

One of the better projects displayed at this year's Emily Carr grad show was Spaceless, created by ID student Sandy Lam. "Spaceless is a furniture system that can maximize living space and improve the overall building environment by allowing more functionality on the balcony."

Locavores

Another aquarium with a super cool concept. This aquarium is stocked with freshwater fish that feed off a small vegetable patch. The plants extract nutrients and purifies the water for the fish; similar techniques are used on farm-raised Tilapia with lettuce planted on trays on the pond surfaces.

Beautiful Things

Been paying more attention to design objects lately. I mean, i always have, but lately been questioning more, observing. I think my passions have been telling me that i should either give industrial design or motion design a REAL try. I need to do some more exploring and investigation.

This BCXSY aquarium caught my eye. My parents used to own an aquarium and i used to work there taking care of all the fish. Definitely a fond childhood memory. Customized aquariums are the sh*t!  This one in particular uses the concept of modern-day insane asylums, which are designed with connected lap-like hallways instead of dead end hallways. This allows the lil fishies to swim continuously and umm... make them think that they're actually going somewhere? we all know that fish have only 2 second memories anyway right? ah wells, its the thought and care for the fish that counts.

Fusion Five

I have not been a big fan of the AJF 5s. The colours that they've been coming out with makes the fusion look WACK. Things look outta place and cheap. HOWEVER, i gotta say, these flight club exclusive joints called AJF 5 PREMIERS are dang NICE. awesome theme, awesome colours, awesome materials.

Grab A Hold Of Yourself

I'm feeling different today... feeling like i've got my legs underneath me again...
gonna GRAB my career by the throat and choke it till i have full control over it. F*ck all the haters. F*ck all the doubt... i'm gonna RULE THE WORLD. well.. atleast my world.

Feist - I Feel It All

Feist is good too. Dang creative. apparently both her parents are artists.

I don't wanna grow up... I'm a ________ kid!

Okay, i've gotta fill in the blank. and in order to do that, i'm gonna have to think like a kid again. I'm just gonna go way basic and ask myself again, what are my TRUE passions. gotta think back to when i was 6 years old, when i was 12 and when i was 19. i think i got lost in the 20s... and my interests kinda veered all over the place. Really got unfocused. So what do i like? i'm gonna make a list with no order in mind:

1. Sneakers: when i was in grade 4, i fell in love with Nike AIR, asics Gel, Brooks HYDRO FLO! but i couldn't afford any of them.

2. Sports: bball, vball, hockey, badminton, dodgeball, snowboarding, golf, f*ck i'll play any sport.

3. Drawing: been drawing since i can remember. Ninja Turtles and Transformers were some of my favs growing up.

4. Painting: i always wished i could paint as well as Bob Ross

5. Robots: Gundam, Transformers, Robotech, Voltron.. frick we saw all the greats... those shows would make my imagination run wild.

6. Music: i remember when i was 6 and not knowing why i couldn't help but MOVE whenever Michael Jackson was on. I am a slave to music.

7. Dancing: same as above. Michael, Bobby, Crazy Legs, Legs Almighty, Ken Swift.. just some of my biggest influences.

8. RC Cars: always had a fascination with radio controlled anything. it was magic to me when i was a kid. and then when how cool was it to open up a model kit, build it myself and have that thing move, fully controllable.

Here's my chance. My chance to be a kid again. To just PLAY and have fun. Just DO it!

and something good is BOUND to happen.. if i persist.

Justice - DVNO (official)

Dang, just saw this video... whoa... So Me is the SH*T man! what a great concept. super awesome transitions too.

Alicia Keys - Teenage Love Affair

This is definitely my favorite video out right now. It captures such a sweet innocent feeling.. it makes me think of the good times of being a teenager. Highschool sucked, but it had its moments.
